In honor of Autism Awareness Month, we had the opportunity to donate build-a-stuffed-animal supplies to the special needs classroom at Kingswood Elementary. These supplies were given directly to the students, allowing them to create their own stuffed animals — something they could build, personalize, and take home. For many of these students, hands-on activities like this provide comfort, creativity, and a meaningful way to express themselves. The students were at the heart of this moment. Each one had the chance to participate, engage, and create something that was uniquely theirs. What started as a simple donation turned into an experience that brought excitement, connection, and a sense of pride. This effort also supported the incredible teachers and staff who work every day to create inclusive, supportive environments where every student can thrive. In honor of National Dog Day, we took a moment to celebrate the four-legged companions who bring so much joy into our lives. We handed out treats to our customers' dogs, making sure their furry best friends felt just as appreciated as they do. From wagging tails to excited greetings, it was clear that these small treats brought a lot of happiness to both pets and their owners. The dogs were the true stars of the day — each one enjoying a little extra attention and a special snack made just for them. At the same time, their owners got to share in the moment, seeing their pets recognized and celebrated as part of the family. This simple gesture was about more than just treats. We recently partnered with Maricopa County Animal Care and Control to host a dog adoption event, bringing together our community and dogs in need of loving homes. Throughout the event, families, individuals, and animal lovers came out to meet adoptable dogs — each one with their own story, waiting for a second chance. By hosting this event, we were able to provide a space where connections could happen, helping match dogs with people ready to welcome them into their lives. The biggest impact was for the dogs themselves. Many of them found homes, leaving behind the shelter environment and starting a new chapter with families who will care for them. At the same time, adopters gained loyal companions, creating bonds that will last for years. Events like this also support the incredible work being done every day by Maricopa County Animal Care and Control — an organization dedicated to caring for and protecting animals in our community. Seeing those first introductions, wagging tails, and families walking away with their new pets was a powerful reminder of how meaningful these moments are. In celebration of Arbor Day, we donated 100 trees to our customers, giving them the opportunity to plant something that will grow and benefit our community for years to come. Each tree went home with a family, where it will take root, grow, and become part of their everyday lives — providing shade, improving air quality, and creating a lasting impact far beyond the day it was received. The people who benefit most from this are not only the customers who planted them, but the entire community that will enjoy a greener, healthier environment over time. This effort was about more than simply handing out trees. It was about encouraging sustainability and creating something meaningful that continues to grow long after the moment has passed. Knowing that these 100 trees will be planted across our community — in yards, neighborhoods, and shared spaces — makes this especially impactful. Being part of the evening wasn't about anything big — it was about helping create a safe, fun environment where kids could just be kids and enjoy a special milestone together. Handmade Birthday Wishes for Foster Children - Miranda B
Birthdays are meant to be special — a day when someone feels celebrated, seen, and loved. But for many children in foster care, birthdays can sometimes pass quietly without the same traditions or celebrations many of us grow up with. Wanting to help bring a little extra joy to those moments, we spent time creating handmade birthday cards for the Foster Alliance to include in their birthday gift bundles for children in foster care. Each card was made with bright colors, thoughtful messages, and a lot of heart. As we worked on them, we kept thinking about the children who would eventually receive them — hoping that when they open their birthday gift, they'll see the card and know that someone out there was thinking of them and wishing them a happy day. It was a simple activity, but one filled with meaning. Every handwritten message and colorful design was a reminder that small acts of kindness can help a child feel remembered and valued.
