Grand Opening - Miranda B

A big thank you to everyone who helped make our Grand Opening possible! We had so much fun building 100 stuffed animals for the Police and Fire Departments to give out to children. We also had the pleasure to build 20+ bikes for less fortunate children and for the families involved with the leukemia awareness! Thank you to the rescues and their teams for coming out as well! It was great being able to meet a few of your fur babies! (Barn House, Love them All, and Dawgz, Tailz & Wagz) All of this could not have been possible without all the support of our customers, so from Peoria Subaru's family to yours, Thank you!

Zennia finds her person after 644 days of waiting! - Angie G

Zennia originally came to Sun Cities 4 Paws as a kitten. She was adopted in 2013 but returned to us in 2020 due to her owner stating she was biting. Zennia was not happy to be in the shelter and it took her a while to acclimate. She did not want to be touched, but she was not biting. When our veterinarian examined her, she discovered that Zennia had arthritis in her hips. This was likely the reason she had been biting: she was in pain and it hurt to be petted in that area. She was started on medication and responded well. But….many months later she still hadn’t found her forever home. She was much more social, liked attention and treats, but would still let you know with a soft swat if you touched her too far down her back. Thank to the #SubaruLovesPets month long event, #PeoriaSubaru and the #undercat campaign we ran over the weekend of October 14-15 2022, Zennia found her person! After a long 644 days of waiting, her new mom came into our Peoria Shelter and fell in love, and adopted her immediately. Yay Zennia!

Peoria Subaru & LLS Deliver Warmth to HonorHealth Virginia G Piper Cancer Center - Kathy D

On Wednesday, July 13, the LLS Greater Phoenix office of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Peoria Subaru had the pleasure of delivering extra soft blankets and art & crafts kits to HonorHealth’s Virginia G Piper Cancer Center as part of the Subaru Loves to Care Program. The blankets will be given out with personalized messages of hope written by staff and customers of Peoria Subaru. This incredible act of generosity was warmly received by HonorHealth Virginia G Piper Cancer Center’s Sandy Marken-George, Network Director of Oncology Outpatient Operations. Sandy shared how much a gift like these can brighten a patient’s day and bring warmth and comfort during patient treatment. Sandy’s team often warms the blankets to provide added relief. Many thanks to everyone at Peoria Subaru and HonorHealth’s Virginia G Piper Cancer Center, not only for their continued support of our patients, but for supporting LLS’s mission to cure blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Phoenix Subaru Retailers Love Learning - Dawn P

The Phoenix Subaru Retailers (in conjunction with KTAR) held a book drive in March 2022. The Raise A+ Reader campaign kicked off on National Read Across America Day, March 2, to encourage the community to prioritize literacy. The campaign even inspired one Valley man, Mike Austin, to learn to read at age 55, The Phoenix Subaru retailers collected new and gently-used children’s books. More than 1,000 books were collected and donated to Southwest Human Development. The books will be placed in Little Free Libraries throughout the community in order to help get books into the hands of kids who need them the most.

Peoria Subaru Loves Learning at Lowell School! - Tyson K

The Lowell staffs and students are grateful for Peoria Subaru’s commitment to education and giving back to the community! This year Lowell School in the Phoenix Elementary School District was the recipient of the Subaru Loves Learning donation, which provided six teachers with $500 each to enhance educational opportunities in their classrooms. These opportunities range from education games to building stronger science and engineering programs on campus. During this year’s Brophy College Preparatory Freshman Retreat service activity, we were able to get freshman involved in playing a variety of educational games with first graders purchased through the Subaru Loves Learning donation. This activity helped the young men understand how they can support younger students through community service just as Peoria Subaru is committed to supporting education. As Lowell students progress through school, they are able to get involved in a variety of activities including photography, painting, ceramics, coding, robotics, and participating in the 4-H program. Lowell School is the only school in Maricopa County with a 4-H program that has opportunities for students to participate in over 400 different clubs including many STEM clubs. Coming off of a year like no other, the Subaru Loves Learning donation will help sustain and enhance Lowell’s 4-H and other STEM activities that allow Lowell students to apply their core curriculum knowledge in project-based learning. We appreciate Peoria Subaru’s donation and dedication to our students!

Phoenix Subaru Retailers Pack Emergency Food Boxes - United Food Bank A

The employees of all the local Phoenix Subaru retailers volunteered at the United Food Bank to pack emergency food bags. It was a fun and very productive event! At the end of the shift, they packed enough to feed 770 families! The Phoenix Subaru retailers are proud to donate their time and support to such a great cause. This is just one of the ways the Subaru retailers in Arizona are giving back and being more than just car retailers! Pictured are our proud volunteers from Peoria Subaru as well as the entire group. Thank you United Food Bank for all the great work you do!
